Our Need To Reverence God

Psalm 103

It would do the soul of man good to give his Lord the glory he deserves.  In this Psalm David encourges us to understand some of the attributes that make serving God so wonderful.  Our God the one who created you and I, the one who gave life to the old man of sin by sending his son Jesus Christ to die on a cross that we might be made rightousness for His purpose and not our own.  This same God deserves our attention, deserves our praise and deserves our whole being focused on Him.

To forget God and all that he is and has done for us is a great transgression.  People today have done just this in our society puting every evil imaginable thought before God instead of making Him first in their life.  Romans 1:28 states that the unredeemed person does not even want God in his knowledge.  We as followers of the only true God must not follow this wordly line of deception.  God has done so much for us.  We need Him in our meditation, in our words, in our coming and in our going out.  Eph 5:18 Paul tells us not to be filled with anything else but the Holy Spirit.  He should be our all in all.  Our energy that gets us going and keeps us motivated to do His perfect will.

There are many wonderful fulfilling promises and praise worthy benefits of God.  The first one we see is the work of salvation in verses 3-4.  God has given man the opportunity to be healed of the disease of sin.  When this happens in a persons life, God in verse 12 removes our transgression from us and thinks on it no more.  In Eph 1:7  Paul tells us that it's Christ's shed blood on the cross that gives us the redemptive life in God.

Just reading the other verses that David has penned out about the awesome character of our God, should be motivating encouragement to live our life for Him.  And give Him the due reverence that he is deserving of.

"Keep reading and remember to tell someone about Jesus."
